\n2023: TCEB holds \ufffdMICE DAY 2023\ufffd to champion sustainability and innovation by
\nsupporting the stakeholders to jointly drive such cause with the ultimate aim
\nto achieve the bureau\ufffds 5-year action plan in making Thailand a global MICE
\nleader.<\/b><\/o_p><\/p>\n

MICE DAY is held every year on 26 April to mark \ufffdNational MICE Day\ufffd. The
\naim is to enhance the awareness of the importance of Thailand\ufffds MICE industry as
\na mechanism that is instrumental in boosting the economy, generating income and
\ndistributing growth to all regions.  <\/o_p><\/p>\n

The third year edition, <\/span>MICE DAY 2023, is underpinned by the theme \ufffdNew Dimensions of MICE:
\nDriving Thailand with Sustainable Innovation\ufffd which is developed to respond to
\nthe \ufffdThailand MICE to Meet You Year 2023\ufffd <\/span>campaign. <\/span><\/o_p><\/p>\n

Dr. Atchaka Sibunruang, Chairman of the Board, Thailand Convention &
\nExhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB<\/b>, stated that this year\ufffds event reflects a strong collaboration between
\nentrepreneurs and MICE strategic partners from all sectors, who prioritise the
\nconcept and practice of sustainability and innovation. Sustainability focuses
\non development that responds to all elements be they economy, society and
\nenvironment, while the utilisation of innovation is geared towards enhanced
\noperational efficiency and competitiveness. These two are major pillars of the
\norganisation\ufffds 5-year action plan for 2023-2027. <\/o_p><\/p>\n

In details, the plan has established five core missions. First is
\ndriving Thailand to become a Global MICE Leader<\/b> through forming strategic
\npartner networks and creating new opportunities by attracting international
\nMICE events into the country. Second is driving Destination Competitiveness
\nthrough Diverse Local<\/b> Identities<\/b>. Third is utilisation of innovation or Innovative
\nMICE Solution<\/b> to elevate the competitiveness of Thailand in the global
\narena. Fourth is to develop TCEB into an Agile and<\/b> High Performance Organisation<\/b>.  Fifth is develop measures that can be
\nsupportive of sustainability of MICE industry and build capacities of MICE
\npersonnel in practicing sustainability. In sum, it is Go for MICE
\nSustainability<\/b>.<\/o_p><\/p>\n

Dr. Atchaka<\/b> reported on the performance of MICE
\nindustry. In the first two quarters of the fiscal year 2023 (October 2022 –
\nMarch 2023), a total number of MICE travellers is 11,348,371, generating 49,572
\nmillion baht in revenue.  Of that figure,
\n374,021 are foreign MICE travellers, who generated 24,556 million baht in
\nrevenue, while 10,974,350 are domestic MICE travellers, whose generated revenue
\nis 25,016 million baht. The economic value created by their spending in holding
\nMICE events is over 108,131 million baht, which generated a total national
\nincome of 104,686 million baht, while tax collection amounted to 7,800 million baht
\nwith 145,000 job creation across the country.<\/o_p><\/p>\n

 \ufffdIt is a clear evidence that
\nThailand has been a preferred destination following the country reopening. With
\nthat, it is our opportunities to multiply the success by focusing on quality,
\nsustainability and expanded business opportunity. MICE DAY 2023 is a platform
\nto demonstrate our readiness for global competitiveness through the campaign \ufffdThailand
\nMICE to Meet You Year 2023\ufffd.   <\/o_p><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Highlight activities at the MICE DAY 2023 features such highlight
\nactivities as a special talk on \ufffdSustainnovation\ufffd delivered by nationally
\nhigh-profiled speakers who are the experts in the fields, a ceremony to present
\nthe trophy to establish Convention Ambassador and THAILAND MICE IT…HAPPEN, an
\nexhibition showcasing products and services in sustainability and innovation
\nand sustainability standards that belong to local communities, TCEB and
\nentrepreneurs.
